In the early hours of Monday 6 February 2023, the people living near Turkey’s border with northern Syria were rocked by an immense 7.8 magnitude earthquake that brought great destruction and sorrow to thousands of lives.
Whole cities were left in ruins, many lives were lost and countless others were left injured in its wake.
With over 46,000 dead, there is no underestimating the devastation caused by this natural disaster.
Furthermore, an estimated 23 million people have felt its actual impact via damage to buildings, roads, and essential services such as water and electricity.
What started off as a regular day turned into a tragedy that will likely be remembered for many years to come.
In this time of crisis, we must come together to show our support for these brave survivors, either through prayer or any other way we can help them heal from this traumatizing event.
Additionally, it is also important to remember that in times like these everyone could use a little bit more kindness and understanding.
Prayer For Earthquake Victims
Dear Lord, we come to You today with heavy hearts, praying for all those affected by this earthquake in Türkiye.
We ask that You would be a shelter for the families of those lost, and comfort for those left behind.
For those injured, grant them healing, so that they may feel hope restored to their lives.
Strengthen the first responders who have been tirelessly rescuing survivors and providing aid to those in need.
Let faith and resilience guide the communities toward rebuilding in the days ahead, and help them access resources to restore their homes and businesses.
Fill empty hearts with solace and lift weary spirits into Your loving embrace. In Your holy name, we pray, Amen.

We come to you, Lord, in humbleness and sadness for the families affected by this devastating earthquake.
We ask You to carry each person who has been impacted by this disaster out of their darkness and suffering into the light and hope of Your love.

Dear Lord, We ask for Your help in this time of tragedy. Please give wisdom to the leaders of Türkiye and Syria as they work together to provide aid and support in the rescue and rebuilding efforts.
Comfort moving through the ravaged towns and cities could bring hope amidst darkness. Be with those whose loved ones were injured or killed – heal their broken hearts, assuage their grief, and give them peace.
Enable us all to show kindness to our neighbors in need, especially the victims of this natural disaster.
Thank You for sending responders, medical personnel, and volunteers who will stand in solidarity with a caring spirit to assist those affected by the earthquake.

We turn to You, Lord, asking in sadness and sorrow for Your most merciful requests to come down on these cities and towns which were hit hard by the earthquake.
We implore You to provide relief and support to all of those affected, both in body and spirit.

Surround them with Your loving grace so that each person can put faith in Your goodness despite the damage done by this disaster.
