Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”‘ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Ephesians 6:10-18
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (NIV)
How Do You Lead A Morning Devotion Prayer?
If you are going to lead a morning devotional prayer, you should keep it short and simple, preferably under 10 minutes. You could begin with an uplifting scripture reading or a prayer. Then lead into the prayer with a brief explanation of why you are praying.
The following is an example of how you can lead a morning devotional prayer:
“We are choosing to kneel right now because this is a time when we can meet one-on-one with our God. We can talk to him, listen to his voice, and do what he asks of us today. Let’s pray.”
Ask prayer requests
You can then ask for specific prayers from the group, “Does anybody have any prayer requests?”
Give an uplifting message
Lead into a bible passage with a brief explanation. Follow this with some personal thoughts and/or feelings you’ve had while reading it. Finish with another short prayer.
This could take up to 10 minutes.
